BEST DUAL PROBE MEAT THERMOMETER
“The Typhur Sync has been one of my go-to probes for a while now. I like how solid the case is and how easy the LED display is to read. While the app works fine, and having it connected to the phone is great, the display makes it perfect for those quick steak and chicken cooks on a griddle rather than a slow roast. ”

“We liked that it had both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. When used in a house with good internet strength, we never lost connection with the unit, no matter how far we strayed. ”

A really solid choice for home cook who’s routinely cooking for 2+
I’m recanting/rewriting my initial average review after the seller responsed with useful information on some prior gripes I had with the typhur. These probes work really well for the task, software’s not perfect, but better than prior meatstick pro from a few years back.On Probes -They are visiblity numbered, which is quite helpful. Their ambient temperature looks pretty spot on compared to other measurements and internal seems right too. They connect well and stay connected at a reasonable distance to the base unit (though you still need base unit near by)On base unit -seems solid and gives you minimal but sufficient access at the device.Recharging works well, though you have to remember to turn off – would be nice to have auto shutoff when probes stay at particular temp for an hour or something…Signals reach the 100 or so feet to my smoker and throughout my house, no dropped connections in my 5 or 6 cooks so far.On the appThe app is fairly essential but also reliable and allows for meaningful alarm configuration, supports a wide variety of customized alarms (something I missed in the prior review) on ambient temperature and early warnings on temperatures as well. Now for some nitpicks – and to the future designer of the software -I want ability to remove all the “recommended cook stuff” from the software – I’m not interested in an app for a temp probe telling me how or what to cook. Manual settings are all I desire and anything on screen other than setting up the manual cook temps and alarms is distracting and therefore useless – allow us to turn it off.I want two (or three) stage cooks, where stages can be defined with their own alarms and graphs are isolated. My problems currently -If you want to have the probe in all the way to done, you are going to be leaving it in during the sear portion of the cook. Obviously alarms on ambient temperature aren’t going to be good once you’ve changed heat sources dramatically (or brought out to rest). Also – ambient temperature of a hot sear (600-700+) makes the graphs pretty useless for the internal probe temps. Software should use two vertical axes with different relative scales for ambient and internal temps so that you can keep your eye meaningfully on the internal temp during the sear. Alternatively, allow for toggling on/off the ambient temperature in graphs (and alarms) – again useful during the sear portion

Worth the price
Only used once so far. But probes, base, WiFi connection, and app all worked flawlessly. NY strips came out perfect, while cooking over an open, oak wood fire. Doneness was spot on.

Awesome probes, temps work great so far for both internal and ambient. Easy cook set up, and what is nice is it takes an average across the probe so my cooks are coming out far better than just one reading deep inside or on the edge.Have not had a probe drop its signal, connection is solid, and love the rechargeable type c cord for it, no more batteries.I have a meater block also and so far the Typhur has been way better

So far, impressed.Appears accurate.Must have a good slab of meat if you want accurate readings. With the cost of meat today, definitely worth it if you find it on sale.

This thing is awesome. 2 probes, a base and the app make the package. Connect the base to your wifi and now you can head out to the store and still see your temps. The probes have 6 temps on them, 1 ambient and 5 ‘in meat’. When you watch the graph on the app in advanced mode it shows all temps graphed. It’s so precise that I can tell where the ‘center’ of the meat is by the temperature, assuming the outer parts heat up faster. Fully programmable to any temp of type of meat. Probes can go right in the dish washer. So far my longest cook has been 5 hours, the battery on the probe and base was still full at that time.

Probes slightly too big for smaller, thinner cuts of meat for example as small chicken thigh. Otherwise works amazingly well, app is intuitive and easy to navigate. Setting up a cook is also super simple and user friendly.
