HEAT WATER Bring at least 20 oz of water to a boil. ADD GRINDS Add 3 tbsp of coarsely ground coffee. 4 tbsp if you like mud. 5 tbsp if you’re shameless. Place the pour over on top of your 12 oz Legendary Camp Mug. BLOOM In a circular motion, wet the grounds with a half cup of HOT water and watch them rise. Just like magic. POUR Starting in the center and moving outward, pour in the remaining HOT water in that circular motion. It’s all in the wrist. Allow the water to drain through the grinds, stirring as needed. SERVE AND ENJOY After 2-3 minutes, AKA less time than it takes to read these instructions, remove the pour over from the mug and enjoy

Great purchase
Perfect set and really durable. Easy to pack for travel or use at home. The mug keeps the temperature warm for a long time or cold if that’s what you’re looking for. Taste is great and easy to use. The filter washes out really easy. The drip coffee container fits many mugs and wide mouth mason jars so versatility is there. Just make sure your coffee grounds aren’t too fine.

Well-designed and versatile
Why did you pick this product vs others?:When I travel, I rarely find coffee that satisfies my palate, particularly in the meager offerings in hotel rooms. Since my brewing preference is the “pour-over” method, I bring sealed containers of freshly-ground beans from my kitchen. This Stanley brewing device with its integral stainless filter and 12-ounce cup produces a great cup of coffee, similar to what I enjoy at home. The only variables are water quality and temperature, but part of that quandary is solved by a collapsible electric boiler that I pack in my suitcase. The Stanley brewer is unbreakable, easily rinsed, and stowable– and so far, has not created any delays at baggage check-ins.

Easy to use and clean. Excellent coffee!
Just had my first cup from this gem! It developed a rich and full flavor from course ground coffee beans. And cleaned up easily, going to make another as soon as I’m done doing this review.

Works great, doesn’t clog
Best pour-over camp cup/brew. I have tried a few of them, they all get clogged. This one works great. Cup is nice, wish the lit closed like the Yetti . I actually liked it so much I bought the thermos to brew directly into. Worked great. Thermos was actually a good deal.

Bought for use in a class B van however,
Pros-it’s fun to use and the brew is tasty. Fairly easy to make a cup in a few minutes. Looks great on any counter was one of the appeals that drew me in. Good size for a limited space/storage situation with the 2 piece design. Use the built in filter or paper filter – even at home the paper filter is best solution for me.Cons-2 piece setup doesn’t attach, do don’t knock the top over! No issues so far just fyi. Again, the included metal filter works fine, but in a camper (limited water) to rinse and clean after each brew (will not let any grinds go down the RV sink) I immediately bought a large pack of cheap paper filters and they work great- zero mess but does add to the waste can. And a biggie here. I love the mug but the base is too big for for a couple of my vehicle’s so have hold onto it. I use hot just boiled water but the brew isn’t that hot when finished? Which actually I use the lowest heat setting on the Kureig anyway but this is only sort of warm??Last con-uses more coffee per brew vs. my reusable k-cup. Toting a lot of coffee for the Stanley is a consideration when packing for travel in a small space. So—I’ll keep it for the house- it’s cool and fun to use at home with a good tasting brew. (I use retail Maxwell or Folgers medium ground) it’s economical and good enough coffee for me!However, I’ll buy a slim Kureig’s for the Sprinter so I can reuse my old refillable k-cup and have the handy attached water tank as well.

Camp or every day coffee
I didn’t buy this to camp with. I don’t camp. I do make coffee though!Basically, I’ve used a stainless pour over coffee maker for at least 15 years. I love the system. What I didn’t love was the need for a paper filter (yes, those other pour over systems require filters or they clog and stop working). I also got tired of my coffee getting cold because i rarely get to just sit through an entire cup of coffee in the morning. Enter Stanley.First off, this is quality stuff. Fine made cup and pour over filtration. Beautiful stuff. You do want to learn how to make good coffee in this or you’re going to be disappointed. No matter if you use a regular tea kettle or one with a gooseneck (more on that), pour slowly. Basically just slowly wet the grounds with the first pour. Follow that slow pour throughout to as not to agitate the grounds anymore than you have to. It leaves less sludge in the bottom of your coffee in the end. If you can afford a gooseneck kettle, get one. It makes the process so much easier with a gentle stream of water.I basically do not put the cover on the cup immediately unless I need to leave it to do something else before that first sip. It’s just too hot and you will burn your lips. I do put the lid on when it starts to cool and it really does keep coffee at a good temp for plenty of time to enjoy. Not hours, but long enough to not end up drinking cold coffee. The plus to having a paper filter is that it’s easy to dispose of. The downside to a paper filter is cost and waste. You’ll learn to avoid the little sludge left at the bottom quickly enough and realize that it actually makes your coffee better in a subtle way. This reminds me of a camp percolator coffee pot. It basically makes the same kind of coffee, sludge and all and uses the same principle idea of hot water moving slowly through coffee grounds.Note: Do not use fine ground coffee. Bad! 🙁

Stanley’s pour over system makes great coffee
I purchased this set for making coffee when my family goes camping. It’s easy to use and makes a good cup of coffee. It helps to use a gooseneck kettle to get an even distribution of water to grounds. You also have to be patient; it can take a while for the water to pass through the fine metal filter. We are able to make 24 oz. of delicious coffee with our kettle .

Resistente.
