Finally. An office chair for average people
I have been buying, putting together, and sending to goodwill or giving to friends chair after chair for the last 2 years. I feel like goldie locks. I work from home and game, I need a chair that can be used for more than an hour, so really comfy seat, good back support, arms. I didn’t want to spend a fortune, but I now know you get what you pay for so “fortune” is relative. I wanted it to look nice, but I now know that trying to be stylish is a waste of money for my needs. I am average height, 5’4″. Wheels on chairs that said they were for average people added 3″ most of the time. This one is PERFECT. Wheels on and I can sit and my feet are flat on the floor. So, getting rid of food rests and other things that were awkward under the desk trying to help. It’s comfortable. I will say, I just got it, so I may have to revisit this review and followup. It was super easy to put together. And based on all of my previous chair purchases in the last year, I am overly qualified to say that the quality of this chair for the money is VALUE. Maybe the $400-1000 chairs would be more comfortable, but I just can’t wrap my brain around that price. Army rests are a little low. Wish they were higher or adjustable, but I can live with it.

About 1 month in and I love this chair
I read a lot of reviews for a lot of chairs. It’s a very difficult decision to make. It’s a big financial commitment. A friend of mine recommened I purchase a Serta chair because they have one and they love it.This one arrived fairly quickly. The box was damaged, but everything was wrapped so no parts were damaged. It took me about 45 minutes to assemble (pay CLOSE attention to which ways the parts of the seat are facing as I had accidentally put the seat on backwards!).Once I sat in it, I knew I had made the right decision. It was like sitting in a cloud. I used to own a $100 Ikea office chair with no support. I purchased the unpadded version of this (which is a little misleading, the regular version had plenty of padding).The reclining feature is great and you can lock it in so you don’t have to worry about it reclining on you when you don’t want to. It has a great height adjustment. The arms are padded and right where I want them to be. It’s also cat approved.

things to consider before buying….
First let me start off by saying i have Achilles tendonitis and my previous chair was causing issues. with this in mind i found this chair amongst many and from what i could see it looked comfy and sturdy, BOTH OF WHICH IT IS NOT. there is extra cushion where your thighs rest but none for your bum. The chair feels rickety and cheap, there is a lot of popping cracking noises and the bar that locks the chair to keep it from rocking is useless as it will only lock the chair upright about 5% of the time.Now on to putting it together, that was fun. issues that i found where as follows, 1: holes didnt match from 1 piece to the next so there was alot of interesting attempts made to make stuff fit when it clearly was manufactured extremely poorly. most of the screws attempted to strip with the littlest of effort. in the end the chair was put together but i made 1 of my children sit in it first as they are smaller and out of fear of the entire chair just breaking as i said it felt extremely cheap.in the end….. im 5’8 215lbs and this chair feels like im stuck at the childrens table at a wedding, too small , too uncomfortable and most importantly i feel as if it will break with the least amount of effort on my part and at its price tag of 185$ i expected more … NOT THE RITZ CARLTON but atleast something a bit sturdier and more comfortable for my bum.

The best chair I’ve ever owned
If you’re under 5’5″, want low lumbar support, have a heavier weight, and want comfort for your legs and knees throughout the day, don’t wait another second to buy this chair. I can sit in this chair for an unbelievable amount of time getting work done. It is the absolute best chair to own, and worth the cost for a home office chair.

Poor quality control and customer support
The chair itself is quite comfortable. It remains to be seen how long the cushions stay firm.The customer support is poor.There is a very noticeable painting or molding/casting error on the right arm rest.I reached out to the customer support via Amazon app and was sent to Serta. After a few days they responded but I got no help there.They said they are not the manufacturer, and gave me the contact info for the manufacturer. I reached out to the manufacturer and never heard back from them (over two weeks now).All I asked was if they (both Serta and the manufacturer) can send a replacement armrest and new plastic caps to cover the screws. The manufacturers website looks suspicious, like it’s in the middle of being developed. They haven’t even replaced the boiler plate template text from the website template they are using. Plus, this model chair isn’t listed in their website.If Serta is not the manufacturer and won’t support customer issues on the products with their name on it, what’s the point in buying a Serta? I feel like I paid just premium for the brand name.Save your money and get a less expensive alternative.

chair wont stay up
originally, I liked the chair, now 6 months later it wont stay up and I cant get any help getting the lift part fixed or replaced, or anyone to assist me in fixing.

Una excelente silla, compare decenas de modelos diferentes (literal) y escogí esta, no tenia pensado gastar tanto, pero al pensar que paso casi 8 horas diarias trabajando en ella durante 5 días a la semana creo que vale la pena gastar un poco más para estar cómodo y cuidar tu espalda. Me llego en solo 3 días desde que la pedí, y la arme en menos de 20min. Una de las mejores compras que haya hecho.

Asiento muy cómodo, lo uso muchas horas a diario y después de un año aún me sorprende lo cómodo que es… Se reclina todo el asiento completo y esta función me encanta… me acuerdo que me costó trabajo armarlo, pero estuve solo, tal vez con ayuda hubiera sido más fácil.. ¡Recomendado! 🙂

I just finished putting it together so I can’t really speak of its longevity but I am really loving this chair. It is really comfortable and looks amazing. The chair feels very high quality. I shopped around a lot and tried many chairs. After feeling unfulfilled with the options in my local stores I took a chance buying this one from Amazon. I don’t think any of the other chairs I tried in store were as nice as this one and it is less expensive. I am extremely happy with the purchase. Five stars.

Elegí la marca Serta por que paracen darle un especial énfasis a la parte ergonómica de sus productos, además siempre tienen buenas calificaciones en sus valoraciones, sin embargo, no puedo darle 5 estrellas al producto por que a una semana de uso, la silla comenzó a hacer unos ruidos fuertes de rechinido que provienen del mecanismo de resistencia de balance debajo de la silla y me da la impresión de que no va a aguantar mucho tiempo. Mi última silla que fué del mismo precio aproximadamente me duró 8 años. La cambié por que la piel sintética ya se había caído completamente. El mecanismo nunca falló y se mantuvo cómoda todo el tiempo. Ésta silla es muy cómoda y si se siente ergonómica. El armado fué muy sencillo y claramente explicado en el manual. Es el rechinido en el mecanismo que me tiene intranquilo. Espero que no signifique nada, de todas formas no puedo darle 5 estrellas por ese motivo. De todas formas recomeindo el producto. La calidad de la piel y los acabados se ven de muy buena calidad.

So far I like it a lot. Very stylish and comfortable. It’s a little warm so if you are sitting for long periods expect to get warm. Not unbearable just worth noting as my last chair was a mesh back and it was great for longer stints of work. Overall a great quality managers/executive chair or for a boardroom.
