In a social-media saturated world, it’s all too easy to see the shiny lives of others and find your own less than lustrous. And while most women won’t admit they’re unhappy, they will tell you they just wish. “I love my life! I just wish ____.” After ten-plus years of professional life online, Kate Strickler, founder of Naptime Kitchen, has experienced the many ways we see a life on the other side of the screen—and wish it were our own.
Setting out to fight the lie that what she had wasn’t enough, Kate discovered simple perspective shifts that ultimately helped her fall in love with the life she already had. Here she shares the small changes you can make that add up to a whole new outlook on life. With her trademark real-life tips and life hacks mixed with humor and stories she’s never shared before, Kate helps you identify and dismantle ten lies about relationships, money, time, and home life. As you discover how to live and mother in ways that work for you and your family, you’ll stop just wishing your life away—and begin to truly enjoy the one you already have.

A great book to remember how to love yourself and others
I’ve been a loyal Naptime Kitchen follower for years and Kate is everything the internet needs. She’s honest and somehow makes you feel so seen.I feel like I have the world’s tiniest kitchen, so it’s fitting that I love a book called ‘I Just Wish I Had A Bigger Kitchen’ but its true, I love my home and I am okay with my crockpot being in my basement. I think moms have a tendency to feel so isolated and this is a really great read to let go of the weight of the world and love the life you live. She gives practical tips and mindset sifts at the end of each chapter. Is it better to skip hosting because your house isn’t big enough, or to embrace the mess, pull out the paper plates, and order a pizza? She reminds you that we don’t have to love everyone (including ourselves) perfectly, we just have to keep showing up. I think this book does a great job encouraging to show up, for yourself, your spouse, your kids, your neighbors, and everyone you love. She’s real, raw, and so relatable. The pinworm story making another round had me cackling.

    Life inspiring,
This book is a true gem, just like its author, Kate Strickler! Kate is real and honest on various topics and is so relatable! I have the book AND I’m listening to it on audible as well…..it is life giving and so full of encouragement and HOPE! 5 stars really doesn’t seem adequate enough to give this read—it deserves so many more that just 5! Thank you to Kate for every chapter and word in this inspiring book—you and your book are a true gift!!!🩵

    Very good read
This book was very good. I really enjoyed the friendship and marriage chapters, and honestly cried and felt seen in her writing. The money chapter was lacking, I felt the book didn’t need it. Highly recommend this book to other moms who often feel alone in their struggles.

Like talking for hours with an old friend
Well my preorder was delivered yesterday and I devoured it in less than a day!Heartfelt, and such wise observations from her personal experience that translate so well to the reader’s personal experience.I love how Kate writes- raw and real and not too much fluff. It’s like sitting down over pizza on paper plates and talking for hours with an old friend. Now I get to go back and re-read each chapter one at a time and dive even deeper.

    Great 1st Book
Love Kate’s down to earth take overall on life. She allows us to get in her head and is very vulnerable. This book has some good reminders as well as some great takeaways.

Helped me appreciate my life, as it is
This book inspired me to be happier about the life I already have and put down the unrealistic expectations I have for myself, my house, and the people close to me. It’s full of stories you’ll find yourself in, non-judgy, and an easy read (or listen if you get the audiobook). It’s wild how a little shift in perspective can nurture your joy even if you never get that Instagram kitchen or if your life or family look different than others. More Than 5 Stars
I wish I could give it more than five stars! Kate does a wonderful job of reminding us that being content goes a long way to learning how to live a wonderful life. Her mindset shifts are practical adjustments to living our fullest in each area of life. Loved it!! A definite reread!
