Nice chair for small tables, dining areas or outside
Very easy assembly. You might need 2 people to hold the tension on the sides in place as you screw them in. All 4 assembled in about 15-20 minutes. Packaged well and color as described.Nice finish. Quality seems pretty good. However be aware of seat size. It is small, but it was what was needed for my table. Price is extremely good.

These chairs were a great deal! And very sturdy ! I like that they have a higher weight limit than other chairs in their price range. They worked perfectly in our camper! I did scuff one pretty bad when putting it together and I’d probably be upset if these were going on my house and that happened but for the camper it’s fine.

They do not take too much room, they are pretty compact and comfortable to sit on.We’ve had them for a few months now, we have 4 little kids, and they are still perfect for our family!

Seat is not 18”…and all the chairs were damaged
I purchased these chairs for my dining room table on the basis that the seats were supposed to be 18 inches high. Upon opening the box that was already ripped when I received it I discovered that many of the chairs were dented and four of the eight chairs appeared to have been painted over rust. As you can hear in the video when you slide your finger over the areas in question, you can hear it crackling with very little pressure. Assuming overtime these are going to most certainly crack and peel, revealing rusted metal. I was willing to accept the other four chairs, even though they were dented because I needed chairs for my dining room table. All of the screws and Allen wrenches were floating around in the box; stuck in legs of chairs etc. not in a bag of any sort so I’m not even sure they were all there. But still I pushed through and assembled two chairs and brought them into the dining room. I soon realized after sitting in one that they were way too low for our table. I measured and sure enough they are barely 17 1/4 inches high (not the 18 inches that was advertised). So after a two hour long process of assembling two chairs and disassembling two chairs and repackaging them, I not only requested a refund, but I really wish I could’ve been paid for the two hours I wasted. With 3 children under 5 this was quite a task!

Wooden seat is real wood and can be sanded and painted color of choice.
One thing I saw in the reviews that was consistent, the color/finish on the wooden seats of these chairs was different in every review with pics, I saw all sorts of hues in the reviews. So we weren’t sure what they would look like. The brown is the original color they came in. Just a plain brown paint, but they are real wood. So we sanded with 120 grit. Cleaned well. Then used two coats of minwax dark walnut 2716 (about 1-2 hours btwn coats) That dried overnight. Then one coat of polyurethane. And this is the finished look. We are very pleased with how they came out and the overall quality of the chairs. They are light weight despite the wooden seat. The legs have caps on the ends, so they move across tile floor easily. And they match our refinished kitchen table perfectly. Wooden table was refinished with basically the same method as wooden seats. The table is pine and we are unsure of the exact wood of the seats, but it is not particle board, pressed wood, or plywood. Each seat is a solid piece of unknown wood….maybe pin oak…? Overall we are satisfied with the chairs. Only wish they were stained, not painted a solid color.

Horrible. They are broken. They are painted on the top of the damaged part . They have not come to collect it yet . So disappointing. Is almost 2 weeks and they have not come to collect it yet

Not only are these classic Tolix Marais style chairs attractive (I LOVE the matte black finish) and comfortable, but I got all four for just $99.99 taxes & shipping included. You can’t even find chairs that inexpensive at IKEA for pete’s sake! These are well made; constructed from solid steel that feels sturdy and strong, yet is surprisingly light too making them easy to lift for stacking . They were delivered SO quickly! I ordered them on Sep. 22 and they were delivered to my door midday on Sep. 24. They came carefully packaged, arriving in pristine condition, and were very easy to assemble. It took just four screws to attach each back to the seat (the screws & Allen keys are all included). In no more than 30 minutes the chairs went from a few parts in a box, to fully assembled and tucked up to my dining table. I love them! They are exactly what I wanted in terms of style and quality, and the super afforable price was a definite bonus! I could not be more pleased with my purchase and I absolutely would not hesitate to recommend/order from this company again.
