Great speakers, annoying stand-by mode
Great speakers! Audio is great, look is great. Set up is a breeze. It’s really cool to have physical knobs to adjust bass and treble EQ without having to use any software.HOWEVER, there is one really annoying feature that isn’t announced anywhere. While I’m in the US, there is an EU regulation that requires certain devices to turn off after they’re not used after a specific amount of time. These speakers fit under that rule. So if you don’t play any audio through the speakers within 10 minutes or so, they go into a stand-by mode and take a few moments of sound being replayed to turn back on again. For most this may not be a big deal, but if you use your speakers for notifications or alarms, you may miss them because of this feature. Just something to be aware of because again, I couldn’t find any sort of mention of this anywhere until I found a random forum thread from 2013 where people were talking about this same issue.So now you know.
