    Life Changing Dehydrator!
I did not think I needed a dehydrator. When it came from Prime Day, though, my husband thought we should get it for making treats for our dogs. Once it arrived, however, I was just honestly surprised at just how useful having a dehydrator could be around the house, and how quickly you can dehydrate just about anything. My first project was actually strawberries that came overripe from the grocery store, which I quickly dehydrated so they would last longer. They were delicious, easy to make, and were like healthy candy! They were also not very sticky, which impressed me greatly (especially since I regularly buy dehydrated fruit for desserts and salads).Next, we decided to try making jerky, which was a major hit in our household. This was the test from what in books to see how well a dehydrator works. It worked pretty well. We had delicious teriyaki and peppered jerky in about six hours. The only problem we had was it was driving everyone in our house crazy it smelled so good. The taste was even better and had a fantastic texture – far superior to anything we had ever had packaged. Overall, I considered it a fantastic purchase and well worth the money spent!

    Great Mini Dehydrator
Had this since 5/2024. This is a very small dehydrator that was a rerurned unit. I paid under $100 for it. I chose it because I live in a tiny home & I wasn’t sure I would use it enough. One tray will hold a 14.5 – 15 oz can of vegetables. This is perfect for me. 9nce dried & conditioned, I vac seal the mason jar. Even in a glass jar, most foods end up weighing about half of the canned food. Accessories are few for the P501. I got the fruit leather trays but food sticks. I bought a cut-able roll of silicone baking sheet liner to make non-stick liners for the trays. I tend to over dry everything (12 & 24 hour runs). I dehydrate canned small red beans, cooked rice, cooked quinoa, canned green beans, canned potatoes, canned extra thick tomato sauce. I use #14 plastic needlepoint canvas, cut to fit, on top of the metal racks. I love the small size but if I ever get the space, I will buy a larger unit in addition to this mini.. Right now I am on the 2nd of 3 batches of a #10 can of tomato sauce. The P501 will only hold 6 oz of sauce in each of the 5 lined leather trays. The half filled pint jar of Marinara sauce equals a 24 oz jar Classico Marinara sauce & weighs less than half. I still have to add my packet of seasonings & vac seal after it’s done conditioning.

    I’m having so much fun
This past year I’ve been tryin to eat better by eating whole foods only, nothing processed or with added sugars. One of my favorite snacks during this transition has been jerky and dried fruits so this was right in my wheelhouse. This dehydrator is so easy to get going. I checked the included recipe book and followed the instructions for strawberries. Overnight I awoke to perfectly dried strawberries! I’ve since dried apples and pineapples, both turning out pretty good (if not a little under done as I sliced them too thick). I’m sure there are going to be some growing pains as I gain a better understanding of this new took, but otherwise it’s been a lot of fun.

Exactly what I hoped it would be!
I love it, and it really does a nice job. I have a 6 year old great grandson that loves helping me. He even puts on gloves when handling the onions I dice or slice. He likes to do the slicing too. It is in a plastic chopper, his hands aren’t anywhere near the blade. Dehydrating is new to me, and so we are learning how to do it together. Well, my great grandson loves this so much, I bought him one for Christmas. He knows how to use mine already. I know his mommy would love to have this also. Last week, he walked in my kitchen with a bag with 2 potatoes in it. I said are we dehydrating potatoes today, and he said yes. I am enjoying it for myself and for him.

Much more efficient and safer alternative to plastic.
Extremely happy with this, being a much smarter and safer upgrade to my old dehydrator made with BPA plastic that leaches out (all the more when hot!)Stainless steel trays are definitely the way to go.Clean and efficient design that allows you to dial in the optimal temperature for what you want, across-the-unit even drying, and a timer that gives you peace of mind for longer runs while you’re sleeping or just away.I’ve used it for very watery fruit, and if keeping the temp no higher than 140° to preserve the vitamins, it can take up to 12-13 hours.Obviously, less watery fruit or veggies finish much faster.

Wish it had more features but works great!
Given the terrible experience I had with the first dehydrator I bought from a different brand (defective from the jump), this dehydrator works great! I’ve got it up and running right now. I just don’t like that it was much more expensive than the first one. Yet it’s smaller, it doesn’t have as many features, such as a light you can turn on in the inside. Otherwise, I love it!

    Great for jerky!
I did 5lbs of jerly in it with a whole tray unused and one tray with only 3 or 4 pieces on it so safe to say this will do 6+ lbs. Set it and forget it….the digital display is bright and easy to read and the jerky is done evenly….no need to rotate trays.

    Very nice dehydrator
Great food dehydrator for beginners. We have dehydrated beef for jerky 3 times last month. We are learning more about how to use this dehydrator. The meat sticks to the trays so we need to spray them prior to dehydrating. We are happy to recommend this dehydrator.

This is an American product and you can’t just buy an adapter to use this in the UK. There’ll be too much power going through it and it won’t work. If you want to give it a punt, you’ll also need to get a step down power converter which is hefty and costs half as much as this does.

I have been having a lot of fun with this machine! Works wonderfully, is spacious enough inside but doesn’t take up a *tonne* of valuable counter space. Jerky, fruit leather (homemade “fruit roll ups”), dehydrating veggies and making assorted powders to add a little pizzas when cooking, trail mix… So many awesome snacks! Definitely recommend.

Some of the things i was looking for:- small size- no plastic parts as this thing is exposed to heatIt’s a great dehydrator. Easy to use. All the parts are stainless steel minus the fruit roll tray which i do not use. Great size considering it’s all stainless steel parts. It’s about the size of an average microwave.I use it to make homemade dog treats (beef jerky, fish jerky, cookies, etc…) and this thing is perfect. It’s small but mighty, perfect size if you have a small dog
