Customers say
Customers find the air purifier effective at moving cold air in RV fridges and keeping temperatures more even, with one customer noting it helps prevent items from freezing. Moreover, the device operates quietly, and customers appreciate its on/off switch functionality. However, the air flow and battery life receive mixed reviews – while some say it moves a surprising amount of air and batteries last about a month, others report it doesn’t move much air and go through batteries quickly. The build quality and value for money also get mixed feedback, with some finding it well-made and worth the price, while others describe it as cheaply made and overpriced.

Works well.
This works well to circulate the air in our house refrigerator. Unfortunately the one we are replacing didn’t even last a whole year but considering that it runs constantly, I guess that’s not surprising. The D cell batteries are a little difficult to replace, but that’s not insurmountable. All in all, it’s a decent product. I’m sure it would be great for an RV fridge which is what it’s designed for. We’ve bought it twice now.

RV refrigerator fan.
I bought this item after reading concerns from other RVers about the cooling of RV refrigerators. For the price I decided to give it a try and ultimately was pleased with its performance. Operating off 2 D cell batteries it is silent when running and provides a small amount of air flow circulating the cool air from the top of the frig to the bottom. Food in the bottom did seem cooler.I did turn it on it’s side as other reviewers had mentioned but it’s small and compact and doesn’t use much room. It ran 7 days on our last trip before I turned it off so I believe battery life will not be an issue.Have camped for years I think this will improve the cooling of our RV refrigerator.

Does it’s job, a big improvement over Valterra (no on/off switch though)
After trying Valterra’s fridge fan, which was junk (review written for that one) I tried this one as a last hope. I use this in my mini fridge to try to keep the temperature cooler and more stable so that I can turn down the dial and not get freezer burn on the food in the separate door freezer. This fan accomplishes just that and puts out a decent air flow that does make a difference in the temperature of the fridge (it doesn’t feel like much but it does make a difference). It is very easy to use so in that sense it accomplishes it’s job but it has some faults.1. No ON/OFF switch, it is fairly easy to get the back off, just place the unit on a table and place one hand on each side of the top and with your thumb press down on the very center and gently pull apart. The batteries are very easy to put in and fit (unlike Valterra’s…). A switch would be an improvement here however.2. It is a nice thought to put in a filter packet but the filter packet is pretty useless and just sits over the top of the fan. After I had to change the batteries once I tossed it, they sell replacements but do not buy them!! They are really little to not effective and putting an open box of baking soda in your fridge or a much larger charcoal bag sold for these purposes, plus they last longer.3. Batteries in this last maybe a month and I do wish it was possible to make a fridge fan that was easier on the batteries, oh well.NOTE: In order to prolong the life of this fan I highly recommend you take a couple thick rubber bands and wrap them around the bottom of the fan (over where the batteries are inside). This removes some of the strain off the small plastic hinges that hold the back onto the fan. It is worth doing this to help prevent the wear on this over time.Build quality is okay, plastic feels less cheap than Valterra’s but this certainly isn’t indestructible.UPDATE******** Camco makes this same style fan with an off/on switch now, will be buying that one and will recommend others check that out instead of this one.

Dumb purchase during Amazon buying frenzy
Ever have those times where you just need to step away from the Amazon? That is when I bought this. I was thinking “why doesn’t someone make a baking soda holder that has a small fan” and then saw this and thought this could work. Sometimes we buy dumb things, and here it is.First, “clack, clack, clack, clack”. Mine seemed to have a rotor fan that is hitting something or is not balanced so we get that sound. My GF complained it sounded like a ticking boom in my fridge. Close the door, and there it is. I joked that at least I can hear when the battery dies.Second, the battery lasted about 4 days. Ok, I probably can’t expect months from 2 “D Cells” and I am using rechargeable batteries. Better be ready to recharge a lot…if you use disposable you’re in a world of $$$.Third, the airflow design is weird. The small charcoal packet is above the batteries. There is a side hole for intake and you can see the outlet out the front. Most of the air doesn’t pass over the packet…would have been better to have some tray where air passes over the charcoal (or whatever you are using as a fresher). So yeah, I’m stupid…I’m not returning because I’m too lazy (and I already threw out the packaging). Of course this wouldn’t be so bad it it wasn’t $20. I’ve bought some useless things on Amazon, but this probably is right up there that got much me much mocking from my GF.

Questionable quality, does do the job
When I first got the fan it wasn’t working at all. I couldn’t figure out why and was about to ask for a refund, until I looked at the wires connecting to the battery plates. The wires on it looked really cheap and the connection looked questionable, so I wiggled the wires a bit and moved them around. After that, the fan started working, thankfully.I have a small chest freezer which I use to regulate the temperature of my beer during fermentation, and this seems to do a reasonable job. I measured the temperature at the bottom and top of the inside of the freezer, and the range of temperatures was about 5 degrees – much better than no fan, which was close to a 12 degree differential.I’m a bit disappointed with the air speed coming from this thing, it’s not the fastest. All in all, this is an okay fan for the job. I don’t know how reliable it’ll be in the future considering how cheap it seems to be made. But then again for the value, it’s not a terrible purchase.

Use in motorhome and find the fridge works a lot better. Not struggling as was the case previously. Would recommend to any fridge

I bought this unit to replace the blue Valterra unit. The Valterra unit was very unreliable, and putting to ‘D’ cells batteries in, without breaking the unit, a challenge. The Camco unit is much more solidly built, batteries fit nicely. It has a true on/off switch. It doesn’t move a ton of air, but it doesn’t need to in an RV fridge. It just needs to keep the air moving inside the fridge cabinet to even out the cold/warm spots and prevent stagnant spots.

Before I had this I had a 5c difference between the top and bottom areas of the fridge. I used a usb hand fan in there before I ordered this item and the top and bottom were in sync by 1c. When it arrived I replaced the hand held fan with this item and in the morning the difference was back up to 5c. Useless! Returned to Amazon.

When we got this it didn’t work immediately. We saw someone else suggested that you hit it with your hand a few times and it will start working. I guess the fan gets stuck. We did that and it started working and worked fantastically ever since. We use it to stop our RV fridge icing up and it works very well. So glad we purchased this fan.
