Customers say

Customers find the keyboard and mouse bundle to be a great basic set that functions well and offers good value for money. The keyboard receives positive feedback for its feel, with one customer noting its solid construction, and customers find it easy to use and set up. The noise level and clickability receive mixed reviews – while some find it ultra quiet and responsive, others note it’s loud and the right-click feature is temperamental. The size is also mixed, with some appreciating the full-size design while others find it too small for larger hands.

Arrived on time and as expected. ……
I buy more than my fair share of these types of products. I inevitably lose the dongle [USB], or the mouse, battery doors, you name it. It drives me nuts. But cannot blew this product. Give it an “A.” Will and would by again. Arrived on time and as expected. ……

    great keyboard
Has longer cables and keys on keyboard have correct resistance. Guess this will be on the annual order list.

As basic (but reliable) as can be!
I first bought this keyboard and mouse in October 2016 for $15 and they have still held up well to this day!Personal pros:-The keyboard has a low profile and nice, responsive keys (and an LED indicator for the Num, Scroll and Caps Lock keys) that never get stuck and are laid out far enough apart to easily reach anything left of the arrow keys. I feel comfortable typing on it even with my longer, skinny fingers (that might be commonly seen on guitar players) and can see myself using this keyboard for a few more years yet.-The free plastic layering has peeled and developed air pockets in several places but nowhere near enough to hamper my keyboarding in any way, and this is after years of near-daily use. The labeling is also solid as the only keys that have smudged are the right arrow key (completely), the down arrow key (almost completely), and the up arrow key (barely).-The wired connection ensures solid, uninterrupted use and the LEDs are excellent indicators of a working USB port.-The mouse also has a low profile and is smooth, responsive and glides along my mouse pad. Due to space constraints I use a hardcover 3.5″ x 5.5″ x 0.5″ pocket notebook as a wrist rest (which is surprisingly comfortable) and grip the mouse with all but my pinky due to my finger size, and have no discomfort or trouble whatsoever. My hands and fingers are too long to cover the entire mouse AND use it comfortably (there is a 0.5″ gap between my palm and the top of the mouse), thus people with smaller hands/shorter fingers may benefit more from it, and I may have just gotten lucky in figuring out my current configuration.Personal cons:-The keyboard has only one height. I personally like this as several keyboards tend to have flimsy and unstable legs, and the keyboard tends to feel oddly positioned if they’re not used at all, but this keyboard is angled decently and is perfectly stable. I put it on top of a folded dish towel to angle it a smidge higher, but presumably any surface will do. If this keyboard had good adjustable feet however, then it would really be a steal!-The noise level for the keyboard is middling. It definitely is not the quietest keyboard and can easily be heard through closed doors during the day, but your keystrokes will not be rattling around inside your head as you make them.-Rarely have keys fidgeted for half a second before pressing down, but that could also be from using it for as long and as extensively as I have.-The keyboard and mouse are middle-of-the-road and thus might not be the best for say, gaming and/or transcribing work, but average users should get plenty of mileage out of them.Overall I would recommend this set to anyone who needs a keyboard and mouse in a pinch. The keyboard is consistently responsive with a good layout, nicely spaced apart keys and durable labeling. The mouse is likewise smooth and responsive. However the keyboard has a fixed height, the keys can rarely stick and are somewhat loud, and the mouse can be quite small for some users. For their pros and cons and for lasting as long as they have, this mouse and keyboard set gets a respectable 4/5!

    it’s worth purchasing
I’ve had those wireless keyboards that the batteries go out on and I’ve had the wired keyboards that have no batteries. I really like this keyboard because it looks sleek and it’s easy to work off of. The mouse is even cool. I really like it.

A nice set for basic users
This is a two piece set with a keyboard and mouse, as described. Upon closer inspection, this is a chiclet keyboard like you might find on some laptops. They are small keys, inset into the face of the keyboard with the rubber dome type inputs for the keys. The keys themselves are a light plastic and are fairly responsive. I’m writing this review on it right now, in fact. It’s about the same quality as any budget keyboard, with decent quality plastic. Obviously, you aren’t buying this keyboard because you want the very best, you are buying it because you’re on a budget and want something of decent quality. I think you get that with this set, as I find typing on it isn’t too bad, and it is fairly responsive. The keys are spaced nicely and doesn’t feel cramped. You get all of the keys you would expect. The escape key isn’t too different from the rest of the keys and not spaced away from them, so it may be an issue to some, but is otherwise perfectly useful. Becuase of the size of the keyboard, some of the keys are perhaps closer than some might like compared to a full sized and full featured keyboard. The F keys are quite small, but if you’re like me, they don’t really matter too much. The extra keys, like the My Computer key, calculator key, and they media player key are decently useful and the addition of volume controls and a mute button are also nice. The Amazon Basics logo is unobtrusive. The num Lock key has an LED light to let you know it is on, as does the caps lock key. I found all the keys worked just fine. There is not a lot of surface outside of the keys, which could be a benefit or not, depending on your style of use. I find that it sits pretty flat. There are no flip out risers, so the small ledge at the top end is about as raised as this keyboard is going to get. The rubber feet underneath the keyboard keep the keyboard pretty well in place. I have no found no real fault or issues with this keyboard except for possibly the styling. This makes a pretty good backup keyboard in case your high performance one suddenly goes bad and you have work to get done. I even use it for gaming, where it isn’t the utmost in performance as far as key presses go, but is perfectly serviceable for the majority of users. I have no experienced any real ghosting issues, but I’m not likely to.The mouse that comes with this set seems prettys solidly built. It tracks well, has all your basic buttons, and while perhaps not the most ergonomic mouse I have ever used, it is very functional. The scroll wheel works well and both buttons click very positively without issue. My kids and wife use it on the family computer the most and they have no complaints. In fact, the fancy Razer Tron mouse they used to have on that computer stopped working correctly due to the infamous razer clicking problem. The best thing is that it just works without any need for fancy drivers or software. The kids use it fine with their games as well. We’ve been using these two items for a couple of months now, and they have held up very well. They are very reliable and work just fine for most computing uses. For the price, this is a winning combination for most computer users. The only people I would not recommend this to is your hardcore gamer, as it will probably wear a bit fast in the usual areas and it is just a dome input so it isn’t the best for extremely fast responses, and the key blandness might cause some confusion if you are the type to use a wide variety of keys.

Top plastic coated melted into a sticky gooey mess
Was fine for a while. Had put it away and just pulled it out–8 years later–and the top of the mouse is all gooey and sticky and it won’t come off. Seems like the plastic is melting off. yuk! Had to throw away.

I first bought one of these about 15 years ago in the States. I used a Logitech K750 at the time and I think that was the best keyboard for typing that I ever used.Back to the Amazon Basics wired keyboard – I use this for EVERYTHING, including gaming, and it is the best overall wired keyboard I have ever used. The space in between the keys is absolutely necessary when you have bigger hands. The keyboard is spill resistant and typing on it is a breeze. Travel is about medium-low, which is great when you are a faster typist. The only bad is that the letters wear out eventually. If it weren’t for that, I could see myself using one of these babies for a decade, no problem. The controls for volume up, volume down and mute are placed comfortably on the top right. This is a full sized keyboard and it doesn’t have the little feet to prop it, the curvature of the board does that automatically. It is extremely sturdy – drop proof and no keys have ever come out of the board. This is a 5/5 stars, 100% recommended. Please keep in mind I’m not comparing this keyboard with a premium, pricey board, but rather with other boards in the price range with similar features.

my tower computer is over 20 years old and still used the purple octagon outlet for the keyboard which didn’t work anymore so this just plugged in the USB and worked right away. I have not used my tower in over 10 yrs (been using my laptop) so it is great that I can get back on it to get my old pics and videos. Wow so happy. Now I just have to set it back up for WIFI which is different now since last I used it. and get used to how slow it is!
