There are plenty of low-quality video lights on the market but this isn’t one of them. Despite its price point, it’s well built and offers great control over the light that it produces.The unit features a 12 x 14 array of alternating “warm” and “cool” colour-temperature LEDs behind a translucent white, hard-plastic diffuser. Turning a dial on the unit’s side varies the output light’s overall colour temperature by changing the intensity ratio of the warm and cool LEDs. Though the colour-temperature variation isn’t continuous, each set of LEDs has enough discrete intensity levels to make it nearly so in practice.A second dial on the unit’s side varies the brightness of the overall light output in a discrete but gradual manner. Pardon the pun but this is where the unit really shines. At the maximum setting, the unit’s light output is bright — and uncomfortably so at a typical video-call or selfie distance. That’s rather impressive at this price point.The unit’s near-continuous colour-temperature control and high maximum brightness set it apart from most inexpensive video lights. Fittingly, the unit’s box doesn’t describe it as a “selfie light” or “video light” but rather a “photography fill light”. That somewhat more professional description seems fitting. In addition to its utility as a selfie or video light, the unit is well-suited for use as both a fill light for portraiture or a key light for product or macro photography. Adding to its semi-professional feel, the unit’s two 1/4″-20 tapped holes allow it to be mounted on a tripod or to an accessory in either portrait or landscape orientation.Three mounting accessories are included in the box. Even better, the unit can be used continuously when its USB-C-to-USB-A charging cable is connected (a DC power adapter isn’t included).In my view, the unit’s greatest shortcoming is that the “six color filters” promised in the product listing were not included in the box. Having a set of colour gels would be a great addition for using the unit for product or macro photography (or perhaps as a background light in a video call). In any event, I suspect that the product description is simply incorrect, since it also stated that one could “pop” the gels “into the silicone cover”. Since the unit’s diffuser is hard plastic not silicone (and it isn’t obviously removable), the product description’s text seems to pertain to a different model.Overall, this is a great low-cost LED lighting unit for selfies, video calling, product photography, or macro photography. Its near-continuous colour-temperature variation, high maximum brightness, build quality, and mounting options are excellent for its price point (currently C$34.99).

Pour l’utiliser comme lampe à selfie, il faut utiliser la pince sur l’écran afin de se voir lors de la prise de photo.Il existe deux façons de la fixer sur un téléphone :1. La première, avec la clip arrière, permet de la maintenir solidement sur le dos du téléphone pour prendre une photo avec les caméras arrière.2. La seconde, une pince plus classique, permet de l’installer sur l’écran.3. Une troisième fixation en métal (vis) est également incluse, conçue pour les appareils photo spécialisés.Avec le Galaxy S25 Ultra et sa coque, la clip arrière est difficile à installer et à retirer. J’ai même endommagé ma coque en tentant de la retirer tellement elle est serrée. De plus, la proximité de la lumière avec les objectifs nuit à la qualité de l’image dans cette configuration. En l’éloignant beaucoup c’est moins pire mais devient encombrant à l’usage.Avec la pince à écran, la lumière est un peu plus éloignée des objectifs, ce qui réduit les effets indésirables. Cependant, le fait de devoir fixer l’appareil sur l’écran ne me plaît pas particulièrement.Personnellement, je l’utilise désormais principalement comme lumière d’appoint placée à côté de l’objet à photographier mais dirigée en réflexion. Elle me permet d’obtenir une lumière douce et uniforme, bien plus agréable qu’un faisceau directionnel comme celui des photos prises ici.Quant au panneau lumineux lui-même, la qualité de lumière est nettement supérieure à celle de plusieurs autres modèles, en particulier comparé aux anneaux lumineux populaires qui laissent souvent une empreinte circulaire dans l’image.Ici, la lumière est plus diffuse, et il est possible d’ajuster à la fois l’intensité et la température de couleur.Puisqu’elle fonctionne sur batterie, vous n’avez pas besoin d’alimentation externe ni d’un fil encombrant. En revanche, si vous utilisez fréquemment la lampe ou la laissez allumée longtemps, vous remarquerez que l’autonomie est limitée et que la recharge est plutôt lente. Heureusement, elle peut fonctionner pendant la recharge.Un câble USB-A vers USB-C est inclus, mais le chargeur n’est pas fourni.

This is a very nice selfie light.Made by Auriani, this is a very well designed 168 LED selfie light. I do a lot of Zoom and Teams meetings for work, and this light is perfect for giving me the extra light and illumination that I need.The light has a well made clip that fits perfectly and safely on the top of my MacBook laptop screen, without damaging the screen itself or the finish of the laptop.The light has so many different setting possibilities and I can easily adjust the lighting, so that my image in the Zoom or Teams meeting, has some decent light…and looks professional. (Being backlit by a window in an online meeting in this day and age, just really looks like you are not trying at all. A well lit video image is so much better for work.)The light is fully rechargable as well, with a built-in 3000 mAh battery. The battery is handy for quick set-ups and for travelling as well. And the light also fits on my iPhone as well…so the built-in battery is very useful when I am filming some content or videos outdoors, using my phone.The light also works being plugged into USB power. A great rechargeable selfie light! 5 stars.

Light is your best friend when taking photos so this small portable LED selfie light from Auriani is my new best friend. I take lots of photos and having the light in the correct spot will turn an okay photo into a better one. This light pack has many features and being able to dial what light temperature I want is one of the best parts. Of course, adjusting the brightness of that light will be second and this light has up to 1250 lumens to brighten up my target. I did several tests with my camera (not my phone camera) and this light pack improved all the shots. This light pack can be mounted on the back of my phone and project the light outward or use the included clip and take photos in either direction. The light pack can also be mounted onto a tripod in either the horizontal or vertical position. The clip is coated with rubber on both sides so it doesn’t mark whatever I clip it to. The clip will open up wide enough to hold onto a 500 ml water bottle cap. This great light is powered by a built-in battery that is charged via a USB C port. A USB A to C cable is provided and the light will work while being charged. On the back of the light, there is a window that shows battery strength with four blue lights. While charging the lights flash and will show how the charge progress is going. One thing that I did notice is the light pack charges at around 7 watts and all of my wall chargers worked with the provided cable. If I wanted to use a USB C to C cable, using a high wattage wall charger like 20 watts or higher may not work. A handy pouch is also provided to safely store my light pack.
