Nice small disposal. When we changed our sink we needed a slim disposal and this worked perfectly. It’s not super quiet but it’s not like you run it for more than 10 seconds. Makes about eh same noise as most disposals. Assembly was like any other disposal. Easy.

Great disposal but could be better
When our fifteen year old 1/3 hp disposal began to leak from the bottom, we decided to replace it with a quieter and more robust unit. The Moen Chef series 1 hp lighted disposal fit the bill. This was relatively easy to install. However, because we failed to measure the diameter (after having confirmed we had the necessary vertical room to install it), it took some gymnastic maneuvers to fit next to the plumbing under our sink. In fact, because of the conical profile of the unit, we were only barely able to fit the unit among the under sink plumbing (see photos). Once secured and plugged in, the disposal worked like a charm. The motor is fairly quiet but you probably don’t want to run this for long too late at night or early in the morning. I deducted a star because the plastic bracket encasing the motion sensor and lighting (be careful when rotating it) both looks and feels cheap and flimsy on an otherwise solidly constructed garbage disposal.

Really suppressed how this preforms compared to the Sinkerator I took out. It is rated 1/4 horse power less but is quieter, faster and doesn’t clog as easily. So far it has proven more durable and less stinky. My once complaint is the rubber sink cover doesn’t drain as quickly in hind sight I would have left the Sinkerator one.The cord comes prewired so installation was easier. Plus it is lighter as well. So holding it up to install it was easier.

I am not a young woman, but…being stubborn (thanks, mom!), I wanted to install a garbage disposal, because frankly, my mom just passed away – she was my roommate – and I don’t have the funds to pay a plumber some crazy fee to install one for me. Anyway – I like Moen things, I’ve bought several different products and have always been happy. The reviews were good, the plug was already attached, how difficult could it be? Well, for someone with bad knees and little upper body strength…it was difficult. I swore. A lot. I cried. A lot. My emotions were off the charts, but taking a Xanax would not have helped me install this thing. So…I took an hour or two for three days. I prayed. A lot. I ran to Lowe’s to get a drain pipe because the one provided was at an angle, and my 2nd sink is not. And I got it installed. And I am thrilled with the outcome! It’s smaller than the original, but has more horsepower. And it was a good excuse to clean out the bottom of the cupboard. So, yes, I would highly recommend this Moen garbage disposal, but be prepared to put in a lot of blood, sweat, and tears.

I did my research and found this one to be the best bang for the buck in my opinion. It was cheaper than the local box stores, so I thought to give it a try. Installation was straightforward and with the batch feed it was a no brainer, no need to run new wiring and separate circuit switch for the unit to work. My last batch fed disposal lasted 25 years so longevity is yet to be determined.

Pros- Much more quiet than the insinkerator brand I had before- which quit after a couple years. This one is 1/2 hp more power. Has a slimmer profile and has a nicer finishing ring in the sink. Sounds and feels like a much higher quality disposal than the ones I’ve had before.Cons- The stopper is cheap feeling. Power cable is about 2ft max so you’ll need to extend if your power is farther away. Instructions aren’t great – might need to consult YouTube if you’ve never put one in before.

Además permite el correcto tratamiento de residuos orgánicos, siendo una opción más ecológica que una bolsa de plástico y logra la reducción de la producción de gas metano<3Un consejo para su instalación es usar un regulador de corriente 🙂
