Superior taste without bitterness
I’m a professional recipe developer and I love this salt! It has a superb flavor profile with no bitterness that is common in other specialty salts. Really hits the salty spots on the tongue but throws in flavors for the rest as well. Great on breads and pretzels, awesome on cookies and chocolates. We’ve also revived our salt cellar for the dining table and Marimar Sea Salt has replaced the salt shaker. Do note that this is a very moist salt with a large grain size so it’s perfect for salt cellars and cooking but doesn’t sprinkle well from traditional shakers. I keep a large hole glass shaker (OXO Good Grips Adjustable Shaker – 8 oz) next to my prep area for the salt and it works very well.It’s also nice that the sodium content is much reduced. I’d be interested in knowing the actual elemental profile of this salt. Is it more potassium chloride with a touch of magnesium sulfate? Inquiring minds want to know.Bottom line: This is an excellent salt that is well priced. You’ll love it.

What do I love about this salt? 2 things, primarily:1. The taste is well-balanced, not sour or bitter. It’s flavorful but not overpowering in recipes. I love using it to cook.2. This salt is not too coarse, and the crystals are larger but not too large. I use it in my salt and pepper mill, and it grinds smoothly. Other sea salts are packaged in crystals that are too large and clog my mill, but Marimar crystals are the right size for grinding. It makes using it at the table really easy, so I can use it to season food at the table.Great product!
