Greta keyboard, exactly what I expect from Razer.
Great keyboard. Good, clicky feel. Almost exactly what I wanted. I wish it had a dedicated print screen button, but the Function key is fine. I do wish the sleep shortcut wasn’t right next to print screen though. But neither are enough to really knock my score of this keyboard down.I do also wish that the dedicated battery button to see the charge could be reprogrammed.

Works with a Mac – with caveats
Let me be up front and say that I did not take away any stars because the color controls and other special features don’t work on a Mac – that’s totally fine and I knew that going in.I took away two stars because I couldn’t figure out how to make this work wirelessly without reading the manual and because the manual is nearly unreadable with tiny print and very low contrast. Whoever decided to put tiny print in silver ink on black is cruel. So minus 1 for forcing me to read the manual and minus another 1 for the manual be hard to read.If you’re a gamer you might really like this keyboard though. Once you figure out how to get it to work it has a nice feel to it. The keys are snappy with good travel. Battery life has been fine so far even with the LEDs on whatever default setting it is. The keyboard itself is NOT going to travel well, but it may double as a self defense tool – it is very solidly built. And if you’re a clacky key lover it has a satisfying sound quality – not too terribly loud but you will absolutely hear it on every voice chat and if you’re streaming your mic will pick it up well.Overall it seems like a well built product delivering value for your money – once you figure out how to make it work. Maybe I’m just too old of a gamer and no longer appreciate struggling to make my machine work.

Finally Hot-Swappable, Just Let Me Save My RGB Already!!
Okay first off, Yes to finally having wireless as an option on a Blackwidow. Even though I mostly game in wired connectivity, it is super convenient to have the flexibility when I am not in full gaming mode. That versatility alone already is a benefit. What got me even more hyped is that Razer finally entered the hot-swappable era. As a keyboard nerd who has been waiting impatiently, opening this has felt like christmas morning all over again. It comes with Orange Tactile switches and honestly, it might be my second favorite Razer switch as of date. Unfortunately, they do not have the option to swap with their purple clicky switches which are a part of their Huntsman line. Still, I have to note that I really wish Razer would let us use their full switch lineup for more range. It’s mildly frustrating that they finally are hot-swappable but couldn’t release their full line of switches and call it a day.Now here’s my biggest gripe (and I hope Razer finally listens). Why can’t I save my custom RGB presets to the board itself? I get that Synpase is required for all customization options, but If I am using this on my work PC where I don’t have the luxury of installing this unnecessary software, I can’t see why it just couldn’t be saved onto the keyboard itself like other mechanical keyboards. Most mechanical keyboards at this price point (if not significantly less cost) don’t even require the use of software to customize your own RGB presets on the keyboard. Razer really needs to catch up here. That said, the build quality is top notch. The volume wheel is my second favorite feature of this keyboard alongside the other media buttons. The battery life on wireless mode has definitely exceeded my expectations.Despite a few design challenges that have me scratching my head, I still love this board. It’s a well-built, a joy to type on, and finally brings Razer into the hot-swap club, with limitations. I am just hoping the next iteration gives us more freedom with switch options and RGB settings on the board itself.

Good for typing and casual gaming
Comfortable for both typing and gaming, great sound, satisfy typing stroke and gorgeous RGB. Would recommend, especially if you’re already in the Razer ecosystem.
